Mr. Obebeduo is a seasoned lawyer with over twenty-five (25) years post Call working experience. He had worked in the Legal Groups of several commercial banks before joining Guaranty Trust Bank Plc in 2003. Mr. Obebeduo obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Benin, and Master’s Degree in International Commercial Law, from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

Mr Obebeduo is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN). He has attended a number of leadership and Management programmes organised by leading institutions including the Cranfield Business School, United Kingdom, Euromoney Learning Solutions, United Kingdom and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, United States of America.

Mr Obebeduo is currently the Group General Counsel and Company Secretary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) and Company Secretary of Guaranty Trust Bank Limited (the flagship subsidiary of GTCO). He presently has oversight over the legal and secretarial functions of GTCO and its banking and non-banking subsidiaries in Nigeria cutting across the Pension Fund Administration space, Funds Management and Payments and banking subsidiaries across nine countries in West and East Africa. Mr Obebeduo has led and been involved in several landmark transactions including the several GTBank Eurobond offerings, GTBank’s issuance of Global Depositary Receipts which is registered on the London Stock Exchange and the acquisition of a banking franchise in Kenya with branches in Uganda and Rwanda. Recently he led the Legal and Regulatory workplan for the conversion of GTBank into a financial holding company with subsidiaries in Banking, Pensions, Fund Administration and Payments.
