Allen was the 48th president emeritus of the Law Society of Kenya and a Senior Counsel. He has 27 years’ experience in litigation and is a Chartered Arbitrator with an LLM in International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary’s College. He was instrumental in drafting Kenya’s Court Mandated Mediation Rules, the Advocates Remuneration Order, various practice directions for the high courts, court of appeal and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (K) Branch Arbitration Rules [2020]. His book ‘Litigation- the Art of Strategy and Practice’ is a favourite of students and practitioners.
